Violence against Women - Naming the victims - Nov 25 2019 Event Capdepera, Mallorca
International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
It was an honor for my music (Lament, from my contemporary classical crossover concept album, The Hunt) to be selected and used this year during the event in Capdepera, Mallorca, specifically during the naming of the victims section of the event, a solemn and poignant moment in honor of such an important cause as is the elimination of violence against women. This is a cause I consider extremely important and close to my heart. You can read more about it here: https://www.un.org/en/events/endviolenceday/
I’d like to give special thanks to NĂşria Garcia for considering my music for it, and to Monica Rodriguez and Jaume Pericas for the video and for allowing me to post it to my YouTube channel and share it with y’all. Thank you!

Not another victim! No more violence against women!
Here are some of the alarming figures from the UN website:
1 in 3 women and girls experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, most frequently by an intimate partner
Only 52% of women married or in a union freely make their own decisions about sexual relations, contraceptive use and health care
Worldwide, almost 750 million women and girls alive today were married before their 18th birthday; while 200 million women and girls have undergone female genital mutilation (FGM)
1 in 2 women killed worldwide were killed by their partners or family in 2017; while only 1 out of 20 men were killed under similar circumstances
71% of all human trafficking victims worldwide are women and girls, and 3 out of 4 of these women and girls are sexually exploited
Violence against women is as serious a cause of death and incapacity among women of reproductive age as cancer, and a greater cause of ill health than traffic accidents and malaria combined.
My new, modern classical crossover, concept album, The Hunt, is finally available. Go get it, listen to it, share it, enjoy it y’all! ? ? Follow the links below or if you want more information, go here.
“The true magic of “The Hunt” is that Franco Esteve, with all his cinematic dexterity did not compose this music as a background to any film. Rather, he composed it as a backdrop to life itself.” – Jamsphere Magazine review of The Hunt.
“Esteve has composed a glistening tune that is simultaneously diaphanous and sensitive, yet emancipated and emotive.” — Huffington Post review of The Wait, single from The Hunt.
