For me, composing music is a process of exploration, which is why I’m so drawn to it. There are so many places to visit and explore and express. A lot of my music is composed as an expression of my short films, as soundtracks, as a live entity within a story. Sometimes, the music is drawn from life itself.
The Mallorca 360 Season 1 Soundtrack is inspired by Mallorca itself and was written, except for The Wait and Quicksand, specifically for Mallorca 360’s 360-degree, virtual reality videos of Mallorca, Spain, where you can relax and contemplate the beauty of Island locations while virtually standing within them. The music takes you beyond the location, lifting you to another space and story.
The Wait and Quicksand are of course, a different story. They were used in the Music Mix videos that jump through a number of locations and were actually written for the upcoming album, The Hunt, but they perfectly captured the mix of locations, weaving a story, as Jamsphere Magazine said of Quicksand, “It’s a little like a film score.” Though The Wait can reflect many things, the Huffington Post review called it, “bright, dainty, elegant” and “charming and delightful”, making its use within the Music Mix videos ideal.
The music and sounds are meant to transport you not just to what you see in the videos, but beyond the videos themselves, so whether you’re watching or you close your eyes while listening to the music, you move beyond yourself and unto a higher plane of relaxation and love.
I hope you enjoy the Mallorca 360 Season 1 Soundtrack and feel transported by its magic, and may you always enjoy the deep and pleasurable meditation of life, love, and beauty.
