Who do you think you are? - A poem and performance by Franco Esteve
New Video Poem Performance about people, betrayal, and more
Here’s “Who do you think you are?“, a poem and video performance. It’s the next one in this series and is inspired upon people and situations some of you might relate to or be familiar with.
“You talk a charming game Promising riches and fame Due to my remarkable birth And my extraordinary berth
But your ravissant poise Reveals your true nature That impostrous undertone (Subtly) hiding in plain sight
Your con is made manifest Out in the open for all to see Despite your duplicitous cleverness Your spiel is now clearly spurious If not yet seen by most, It is most definitely seen by me
Who do you think you are Who are you to elder claim Some right to that which you have stolen Some truth to that which you have lied, Cheated me of much And just as such, been all a disappointment
Deceiver, abuser, serpent, thief Titles you share with a more infamous other Titles I’ve carried as prince Unearned, undeserved, A debt I have most definitely paid
And yet, your guile endures With your deceitful manipulations Preying on the gentle nobility of our princely nature To once again plunder our coffers Dishonoring that of the deceased
And the princely heirs you’ve disgraced, Mangled, scarred, and impoverished. A legacy of destitution Procured throughout a lifetime Stamped and sealed even in death
Fuck you, you narcissistic fuck You false idol, you golden calf I’m no longer blind And have no take to give Nor do I wish to bye, good or otherwise
